A Practical Implementation of a Digital Document Signature System using Blockchain
Digital document signatures are a type of electronic signature used to authenticate the signer's identity and the integrity of the document being signed. They are commonly used in various industries, including finance, healthcare, and government, to provide a secure and efficient means of signing and verifying important documents. Any written form of contract relies on a physical signature from all the parties involved. The option of digital signing has been used and agreed by governments worldwide as it allows for faster communication between institutions. Leveraging the power of blockchain can further reduce the dependency on centralized entities. Using Web 3.0 we can enhance the communication between web applications and the blockchain network of choice, seamlessly integrating the interaction with the users' wallet application with the core functionality. The proposed implementation brings benefits to the private and public sectors as many side applications can be built around the system. Compared to existing digital signature applications, the proposed solution is decentralized and non-invasive toward documents targeted for signing.
