Pulsed Cooling System for Photovoltaic Panels
This study focuses on limiting the heating of a photovoltaic panel subject to the ambient infrared irradiance and the electric load-related Joule effect, as reducing the temperature of the PV panel may increase the PV conversion efficiency and make it available for use in further energy conversion cycles. First, a water-circulated counter-current heat exchanger is provided on the back of the PV panel to reduce the hotspot temperature. Then, a pulsed fluid cooling system is considered. The two methods are analyzed for the heat thus extracted from the system to be further used in a secondary energy conversion system.
