Automating Students’ Decision Processes in a Smart Campus
Given the technology evolution and the introduction of the smart campus concept, this paper considers their impact on educational processes in the specialization of automation and industrial informatics. The goal was to study the characteristics implemented in existing systems and to create an application based on use cases defined in our faculty, for guidance and automation of students’ decisions in regard with their educational path. In order to apply smart campus concepts, we focused on administrative processes, like subjects’ exchange, with support from a virtual assistant designed to guide students through their decision activities. This also includes the generation of a personalized calendar for students and professors, based on their own timetable.
