Predictors of Satisfaction, Motivation, and Learning Engagement for Engineering Students
The research presented in this paper aims to identify an association between the educational process and some socio-demographic variables, as potential predictors of the satisfaction level for engineering students, together with their engagement into the overall learning process. The study has been conducted for two subjects based on an anonymously conducted survey during the final lecture of the semester. Data has been collected by applying the same questionnaire to the students during the last lecture, in the five (5) academic years. The specificity of the collected data has required the use of non-parametric correlation coefficients in the investigation of the degree of association between variables. It has been identified that the level of student satisfaction varies mainly with the characteristics of the courses and students’ academic maturity.
